I know my purpose & next steps.

At The Academy, our youngest learners start their journey rooted in love, confidence, and curiosity.

Elementary students thrive in a fun, encouraging environment that nurtures their faith and foundational skills. Through play, discovery, and both individualized and group learning, they grow in their ability to read, write, solve problems, and engage the people and world around them.

We focus on helping each child know they are loved by God, valued by their community, and capable of great things. With consistent routines and joyful surprises, students build trust in themselves and others. Every day is designed to make school fun, create independence, encourage curiosity, and build the habits of a lifelong learner.

Tyler’s Story

Want to know more about the elementary school experience at The Academy?

let’s see if we’re a good fit.

  • We’re not trying to fix the system. We’ve built something entirely different. Our elementary program is hands-on, faith-centered, and full of movement, curiosity, and real learning. Kids don’t just memorize facts. They build confidence, ask big questions, and discover who God made them to be.

    Love + Play + Self-Control + Curiosity + Learning Opportunities = Growth & Learning.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” – Romans 12:2

  • First, we focus on student learning, not adult teaching. And they learn what matters most: reading, writing, math, science, Bible, art, and movement. But it’s not just about subjects. It’s about helping kids love learning and see how everything connects to real life and God’s design.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” – Proverbs 1:7

  • No. In fact, most of our students thrive when they transition. They’re often ahead in the areas that matter most—critical thinking, confidence, communication, and love of learning. They may learn differently here, but they’re not behind.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” – Colossians 3:23

  • Quite the opposite. Kids need to move. Our spaces are flexible, active, and designed for young minds and bodies. They still learn how to focus, but they’re not punished for being kids. In fact, we start most days with blended-age structured play, and provide kids tons of time for unstructured time for play, exploration, and creativity. They also usually spend more time outside than they do inside.

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” – Psalm 139:13

  • With love, clarity, patience, and consistency. We teach respect, responsibility, and self-control from the start. We don’t yell, shame, or bribe (well, we do like games and rewards:). Really it's just coaching. Kids learn that actions have consequences and that being kind and accountable is part of growing up. If we see a pattern, we address it, first with the student, then if needed with the parents. And if needed, we use a performance plan to formalize the path back on track.

“The Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.” – Proverbs 3:12

  • Everything starts with Jesus. We read the Bible, pray, and talk about God every day - but it’s not just a class. It’s part of how we live, learn, and treat one another. Kids are invited to ask questions, wrestle with truth, and build a real faith, not just follow rules. We're really helping kids build a Biblical worldview to make sense of the world and guide themselves.

“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 19:14

  • As little as possible, as much as helpful. The younger the student, the less the technology. We see tech as a tool when it can enhance the learning experience, not replace it. So our students learn from multiple modes of learning experiences. Hands on, in hand, online. No mindless tech. No wasted time.

“I will set no worthless thing before my eyes.” – Psalm 101:3

  • Yes. We’ve designed our calendar and model to give families more freedom. We attract families who want more time together, not more homework and busywork. If you live life outside the box, this might be your school.

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” – Psalm 90:12

  • Very. We see parents as partners, not just drop-off drivers. You’ll have insight into your child’s growth, input into the journey, and a school that supports your values, not competes with them.

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” – Ephesians 6:4
