The Academy Way

Two young boys holding leaf blowers outdoors on a sunny day, standing on artificial grass near a building with tables and chairs, with a sports court and trees in the background.

More than school — a student-driven, purpose-filled journey shaped by faith, freedom, and real-world readiness.

The Student Journey

A simple sequence that results in a profound life:

ELEMENTARY

I know that I'm loved and capable.

You have to know you are loved, regardless of your merit so you will engage the risk of trying new & hard things. Overcoming these things builds your capability, and you know it. That’s called confidence.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

I know I'm the driver of my own life.

When you feel confident, you dare. When you dare, you win - or bounce back stronger if you don’t - and then you realize it is, in fact, your life to live, and you own your wins & your losses & get hungry for more.

HIGH SCHOOL

I know my purpose & next steps.

When you realize it’s your life to live, you get curious what kind of life you want. What you like, what you don’t. What you’re great at, what you’re not. And then you start to dream & plan your purpose & next steps.

We believe learning is better when it’s:

STUDENT-DRIVEN

PROJECT-BASED

CHRIST-CENTERED

FAMILY-FOCUSED

BLENDED-AGED

REAL-WORLD

The Academy Way

  • Group of five women holding hands in a circle outside near a building with an American flag hanging above.

    Christ-Centered

Meaningful learning for a meaningful life requires "purpose". Purpose comes from a Creator. The Academy helps kids find and pursue their purpose by making the relationship between the student and their Creator the foundation of their experience.

  • A group of children and an adult working together to slice green apples using apple peelers.

    Project-Based

Students learn best when the learning is relevant - when they know "why" they are learning it. Interesting projects that they choose allow students to learn across the subjects about topics they care about while building their confidence in themselves.

  • Group of young people sitting in a circle having a discussion in an indoor setting that resembles a classroom or therapy room. Some are taking notes or using laptops.

    Blended-Age

People learn from their peers, and a peer doesn't have to share the same year of birth. Mixed age learning studios allow students to collaborate with older students, younger students, and other students their age. They learn more and grow more confident.

  • Group of children and a woman working on laptops at a table in a casual indoor setting.

    Student-Driven

The hero of the student's story is the student, not the teacher at the front of the classroom. The Academy puts students in the driver seat of their learning. They take ownership of what, when, and how they want to learn. The result is more learning in less time.

  • Two children and an adult in a creek, with one child helping the adult stand on a rock while another child listens nearby, all outdoors surrounded by trees and rocks.

    Family-Focused

Students perform better in school when their families are involved. And home life is better when school supplements the family, not distracts from it. The Academy is designed to help your family live more today while preparing your student for life tomorrow.

  • Three young women are examining a goat on a grassy field. One woman is using a stethoscope on the goat, while another holds a smartphone, and the third holds the goat's horns.

    Real-World

The best learning comes through discovery. And that happens through transformative experiences. As often as possible, we disrupt our student routines with excursions into the world to get out of comfort zones, get hands-on, and learn about the world & their place in it.
